Red Rocks is 3 days away. Today, we are going to take a look at the songs from pre-major label releases that have and have not been played at Red Rocks. This covers the first Self Titled release up to The Second Gleam. The only album they have played 100% of is Emotionalism. “Talk on Indolence” has been played the most with 20 performances at Red Rocks, “Murder in the City” is at 18 performances, “Go to Sleep” is at 17 performances, “The Fall” at 16 performance, and rounding out the top 5 is “Distraction #74” and “Paranoia in Bb Major” tied at 15 performances.
They’ve played 62 songs from the pre-major label era, and haven’t played 28 of those songs. I put together a 4-hour video of the 61 songs they’ve performed (YouTube blocked it). The video is here. Here is a playlist of all the songs: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNSApg4ssIqHpM5I1cWLEWoJpPmx_q6Zq&si=HBqRouVk5qY1UL0t
Looking at the 27 songs they haven’t performed, there are a few I’m surprised are still on this list: “Pretty Girl from Raleigh”, “The Greatest Sum”, and “Smoke in Our Lights”. Other songs they have yet to perform: “Kind of in Love”, “My Lady and the Mountain”, “Those Green Eyes”, “Feb 20, 2000”, “Let Myself Live”, “I Love You Still”, “Jenny and the Summer Day”, “My Losing Bet”, “Beside the Yellow Line”, “Closing Night”, “Sorry Man”, “Tale of Coming News”, “Do You Love Him”, “My Last Song to Jenny”, “The New Love Song”, “Letter to a Pretty Girl”, “One Line Wonder”, “The Day that Marvin Gaye Died”, “Sixteen in July”, “Pretend Love”, “Dancing Daze”, “40 East”, “Yardsale”, “Find My Love”, and “Black Blue”.
