On This Day in Avett Bros History

A stop on their first tour. This write-up promoting the Smokehouse Barbecue gets a few things wrong: “They were even solicited by a national act, the Greensboro based Avett Brothers. “They actually contacted us, they saw our website. They’re a four-piece blues band with a stand-up bass player”. At least they got the stand-up bass player right, and they “they contacted us” (Bob booked the first tour).
July 12th, 2019 at The Fabulous Fox - St. Louis, MO
The only concert performance of Loudon Wainwright III “The Swimming Song”, only other performance was on a Sirus XM show.
